Boond Boond — A Song for Wetlands Protection

Shubhra Puri Arora

Boond Boond is a soulful ode to wetlands — where water gives life to land, wildlife, and people. From the mangroves of the Sundarbans to the high-altitude lakes of Ladakh; from Sambhar and Loktak to Chilika, Pallikaranai, and the urban jheels of Sultanpur and Najafgarh — India’s wetlands span every climate and geography. These living ecosystems are havens for wildlife and migratory birds, natural water purifiers, sustainers of livelihoods, buffers against floods, and vital shields against climate change. On World Wetlands Day (February 2), let us resolve to protect our wetlands — because protecting wetlands means protecting life. Produced in collaboration with Wetlands International South Asia.
