Poonam Verma has spent more than a decade organising at the grassroots level in Gurugram’s residential societies, building a model for RWA-led civic engagement that has influenced waste management practices, local governance participation, and citizen-MCG relationships across multiple sectors of the city. Her approach is practical, neighbourhood-first, and deeply rooted in the belief that sustained civic change comes from within communities rather than from outside.
Through her work with GurgaonFirst, Poonam has helped design and deliver waste management workshops, RWA governance training sessions, and citizen engagement frameworks that have been adopted by dozens of housing societies across Gurugram. She is a strong advocate for women’s participation in RWA committees and local governance structures.
